Build a Culture in which a Diverse Community Thrives

GW Law values and promotes diversity which we define broadly to include racial, ethnic, gender identification, sexual orientation, age, skill, geographic, political viewpoint, military service, socioeconomic diversity, and more. Consistent with applicable law, we will prioritize and create structures that support the expansion of a diverse community of faculty, staff, and students and enable them to thrive at GW Law. Elevate perspectives from broadly diverse community members and build equity through empowerment.

Strategic Priorities:

  1. Cultivate equity, inclusion, and belonging among and within staff, students and faculty
  2. Attract more faculty and staff applicants from broadly diverse backgrounds
  3. Create an inclusive academic experience for all students by employing inclusive teaching practices, revising course curricula, as appropriate, and attracting faculty who are committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment
  4. Attract more student applicants with broadly diverse backgrounds, including applicants  who are first-generation, low-income, or from under-served communities
  5. Value and promote a broad definition of diversity
