- Alumni Events
The GW Law Alumni Office hosts more than 100 events around the world each year. We sponsor regular events in Washington, DC and New York City, as well as regional events in California, Florida, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and more. Check the Alumni Event Calendar for upcoming events in your area!
- Alumni Weekend and Reunion Weekend
Each year, the GW Law hosts two major events to welcome alumni back to the law school.
Fall- Alumni & Families Weekend is an opportunity for all alumni to visit. There are interest-group based events, lectures, tours, and receptions for you to connect with faculty, students and fellow alums.
Summer- Reunion Weekend Weekend features class-specific events, tours of the law school, faculty lectures, and family activities. The weekend culminates in the Class Dinner and Alumni Awards presentation at an exclusive location in Washington, DC.

Bar Examination Certification
The Law School Records Office can usually supply the needed documents for your bar application. Certain forms, however, must be completed by the University Registrar.
Please check with the Records Office at 202.994.6261 or [email protected] to determine the appropriate office to assist you.
LLB to JD Transfer Form
Alumni who graduated prior to 1968 and received an LLB degree can transfer the LLB to a JD degree.
Please complete and submit the Request to Exchange LLB for JD Degree Form (PDF) to have your diploma reissued.
- Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) Information
The George Washington University Law School Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) provides limited financial assistance to GW Law graduates who have taken out law school loans to help pay the costs of a JD degree and who are employed in qualifying law-related public interest or public service positions. For those who are eligible, LRAP will repay to the graduate an amount not to exceed the annual amount that the graduate pays on interest and principal for those loans.
The GW LRAP is funded and operated through the GW Law and should not be confused with the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) or other Income-Based Repayment (IBR) plans coordinated through the US Department of Education.

- Alumni Career Development
GW Law's Center for Professional Development & Career Strategy offers Alumni Career Services to JD alumni who are at least one-year post-graduation*. Staff members are available to meet in person or to speak with graduates by phone. We are happy to discuss resume and cover letter preparation, interviewing tips and preparation, job search and career-related resources, job search strategies, networking, informational interviewing, and any other issues of interest to graduates.

*All other alumni should contact the Career Center to be referred to the appropriate counselor.
- Online Networking & Mentoring Community
GW Law Link is a new online platform where GW Law alumni can connect with classmates, make new connections, and give back by mentoring current GW Law students.
- Alumni Directory and Lifetime Email
As a GW Law alumni you have access to alumni email and an online alumni directory.
The first step to accessing these services is to have a GW UserID (previously referred to as a NetID). If you have questions about your UserID, or need to create one, please find more info about that process and accessing your alumni email.
Once you have your UserID you can access the Alumni Directory.
- Affinity Groups
Alumni may participate in affinity groups. These groups reflect the interests and makeup of GW Law's diverse alumni volunteers, and provide the impetus for various initiatives, activities, and events.
- Jacob Burns Law Library
GW Law School Alumni are welcome to use the Jacob Burns Law Library. For information on how to access the library and the resources that are available please see the Library Alumni Resources Page.
- GW Magazine and GW Law Magazines & Publications
In addition to the GW Magazine sent to all GW alumni, GW Law Magazine issues are typically published in the fall and spring for GW Law alumni and you can also peruse the law school's full range of Publications.
- GW Law Class Notes
GW Law alumni receive monthly curated news straight to their inbox with exclusive alumni-specific content, including alumni news and class notes.
- Additional University Alumni Benefits
All law school alumni are eligible for additional benefits including discounts and on-campus resources.
- Gelman Library
Alumni may also access GW's main library, the Gelman Library, by obtaining a GWorld Alumni ID card.
- Supreme Court Bar Admission
GW Law’s Development and Alumni Relations office regularly brings approved GW Law alumni to the Supreme Court to be sworn in. Please follow the instructions to be considered for admittance to the Supreme Court Bar.
