Supreme Court Bar Admission

GW Law’s Development and Alumni Relations office regularly brings approved GW Law alumni to the Supreme Court to be sworn in. Please follow the instructions below to be considered for admittance to the Supreme Court Bar.

You must be in good standing with your state’s bar and practicing for at least 3 years. If you meet this requirement, please complete:

  • Bar Admissions Form
    • Must have a QR code on it
    • Must be signed by two (2) sponsors
    • Sponsors must be members of the Supreme Court Bar who know you personally and are not related to you by blood or marriage
    • Other than the signatures, handwritten submissions will not be considered
  • Certificate of Good Standing from a presiding judge, clerk, or authorized official of the highest court of your bar admission (State, Commonwealth, District, Territory). 
  • Pay Admission Fee of $200
  • Checks must be made out to: "The Supreme Court of the United States" and post-dated of your ceremony. Please contact the GW Law Alumni Office to confirm this date before sending the check. 
  • Your complete application package, including payment, should be sent to:

Please note that submitting application materials is on a first come, first served basis. If we get more than 12 applications, the 13th application will be automatically moved to our next group date.
