Thu, 22 September, 2016 5:00pm

In June 2016, the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act was signed into law, overhauling the outdated Toxic Substances Control Act. The EPA is now faced with implementing this law which represents real chemical safety reform.

Morant in a discussion with the individuals who worked for years to get this bill passed, and understand what it will take to make sure key health protection objectives are met.

Senator Tom Udall (D- NM) will provide a keynote with an overview of how the law came to be. Milken Institute SPH Dean Lynn Goldman, GW Law Dean Blake D. Morant, the EPA, and the Environmental Defense Fund will also offer remarks in what will undoubtedly be a lively discussion surrounding this historic bill passage.

The discussion will last from 5 - 6:30 pm. There will be a reception afterwards until 7:30 pm.
