George Washington University Law School Dean Blake D. Morant is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Ewert, Esq. as Associate Dean of Students, effective June 1, 2016.

“We are thrilled to welcome Elizabeth Ewert to the GW Law community,” said Morant. “She brings a wealth of experience to this position and a strong commitment to supporting students in their academic and personal endeavors. We know that she will play a vitally important role in helping our students navigate the many facets of their GW Law experience for many years to come.”

Since 2010, Ewert has served as Director of Academic Enhancement Programs at Georgetown University Law Center, where she oversaw the Center for Wellness Promotion; created an academic support function; and worked on diversity and inclusion, student organization advising, academic policy and curriculum evaluation, and co-curricular program development. Ewert also has taught as an adjunct professor of Legal Research and Writing at GW Law.

A member of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and California state bars, Ewert is a graduate of Washington & Lee School of Law and Georgetown University. Before entering law school administration, she spent nearly two decades as a litigator in private practice, including as a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Drinker Biddle & Reath.

“I am delighted to be joining the George Washington University Law School, which is a leader in student formation,” said Ewert. “Success and well-being come when students are engaged in authentic expression of their core values in their academic, personal, and professional lives.  I look forward to partnering with GW Law’s superb faculty and administration in continuing to create the best possible place for students to not only learn law, but learn to formulate, articulate, and live out those core values.”

The Dean of Students office provides academic, co-curricular, and personal assistance to students while they are enrolled at GW Law to help ensure student success. It also oversees student organizations and orientation programs, offers student publication support, and coordinates the annual academic awards program.
