About the Conference

On October 27, 2016, GW Law’s Sustainable Energy Initiative convened a gathering of top policy makers and industry leaders to discuss the way in which electricity in the U.S. will be produced, delivered and used in the future. The event was hosted by Dentons US LLP and funded by the J.B. and Maurice C. Shapiro fund. The learning sessions examined the work occurring in Minnesota, California and the Southeast; FERC, NERC and U.S. DOE; and through state and city regulatory bodies. Additional learning sessions included remarks from a leading consumer advocate and newer market entrants, plus a lunchtime presentation on grid architecture for the future grid. The learning sessions were followed by a facilitated discussion session.

The agenda and the available presentations are below. A conference summary will follow.
