Samiyyah Ali is an attorney at Google, where she focuses on high-risk issues that involve regulatory scrutiny, enforcement actions, incident response and other emerging risks across the company. Ms. Ali formerly served as Deputy Associate Counsel in the Office of White House Counsel, where she provided legal and strategic advice to the Biden Administration. She also litigated at two law firms, representing individuals and corporations in a range of trial and appellate disputes, including securities, antitrust, fraud, white collar and criminal defense matters. Ms. Ali began her legal career as a law clerk, for Justice Sonia Sotomayor of the Supreme Court of the United States, Judge Sri Srinivasan of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and Judge Amul Thapar when he served as Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. Before law school, she worked as a student affairs administrator at the Ohio State University.

Ms. Ali's pro bono practice has focused on representing clients in criminal trial, appellate and post-conviction proceedings. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Second Look Project, a nonprofit organization committed to fighting mass incarceration in the District of Columbia. At GW, Ms. Ali teaches Race, Racism and American Law.
