Eric Angel is Executive Director of DC Greens, an organization dedicated to advancing health equity by building a just and resilient food system in DC. Prior to joining DC Greens, Mr. Angel served as Chief of Staff of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, a civil rights agency in the United States Department of Labor. Before that, he served as Senior Advisor to DC Attorney candidate Bruce Spiva. Mr. Angel spent the bulk of his career at the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia, DC’s oldest and largest general civil legal services program. He joined Legal Aid after having served as an associate counsel to President Clinton, working primarily on federal judicial nominations. Prior to Mr. Angel's two years at the White House Counsel's Office, he served for four years as a trial attorney in the Civil Division in the United States Department of Justice handling civil litigation matters in federal district courts around the country. Following his graduation from law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Raymond J. Dearie of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Mr. Angel has been recognized both locally and nationally for his work. At the 2010 DC Judicial and Bar Conference, Mr. Angel was named the co-recipient of the DC Bar Foundation's Jerrold Scoutt Prize, given to those who have “demonstrated a career-long compassionate concern” for clients “while exhibiting a high degree of skill.” In 2012, Mr. Angel received the American Bar Association's Section of Litigation's John Minor Wisdom Public Service and Professionalism Award, given to individuals who "have made outstanding contributions to the quality of justice in their communities, ensuring that the legal system is open and available to all."
